    • Continue funding for the North Carolina Community College System's BioNetwork initiative, which includes the Wake Tech Capstone Center.
    • Support North Carolina State University's capital request to assist with future research & development projects.
    • Reinstate the state sales tax refund for local school systems.
    • Support increase in cap on charter schools, based on Blue Ribbon Committee recommendation.
    • Oppose unfunded state mandates (such as class-size reduction initiatives).

    • Invest in University Research in the region's identified cluster industries; including: Bioenergy (NCSU), BRITE (NCCU), Research Competitive Fund (UNCGA), Entrepreneurship and Regional Cluster-based economic development (NCSU)
    • Support a Legislative Study to Develop a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics college tuition loan forgiveness program
    Target Cluster Infrastructure Investments
    • Support National BioAgriculture Defense Facility
    • Support Efforts to strengthen the state's ties to the Military and Defense Industry, including the recently opened Defense and Security Technology Accelerator
    • Increase Funding for Community Colleges for Customized Industry Training and Equipment
    Transportation/Infrastructure Investments
    • Support Local Option Sales Tax Authority via referendum for physical infrastructure needs
    • Provide Gap Funding for New Toll Road Construction
    • Eliminate the transfer from the Highway Trust Fund to the General Fund
    • Modernize the NCDOT Allocation Formula
    • Support statewide Water/Sewer Bond
    Incentives
    • Support $20 million for One North Carolina Fund
    • Retain machinery and equipment tax credit in the William S. Lee Act
    • Roll forward Job Development Investment Grant program for 2 years
    • Reduce Corporate Income Tax
  • Taxes
    • Support sunset for the scheduled Personal Income Tax rate (lower additional 1/4%)
    • Support the concept of updating and modernizing North Carolina's tax structure and support a critical evaluation of the recommendations of the Local and State Tax Modernization Committee.
  • Transportation
    • Keep existing transit funding options in tact while Triangle reviews transit options.
